Dear Lauren

Dear Lauren,

You and I were best friends as soon as we bumped into each other at the Taylor Pod doors. We were both too tall for the Kindergarten bag racks so we got to have grade 3 ones. I remember us being so proud of that. We were only in the same class for grade one but our friendship stayed strong. I spent a lot of my time at the park with you playing on the swings and the swaying bridge. We both were the greatest fans of the Saddle Club, especially Lisa. We played Saddle Club most lunch times. On other lunch times we would play Sharks, Four Sqaure, Tag and your favourite sport running. You were a fantastic runner you always won the short distance running and come third after me and Sarah in the cross country in grade 4. I was upset that i came second but you were so proud that you had completed the race. In March 2002 you changed classes into my class again. I was so happy because you, Danica, Sarah, Taylor and Charlie were in my class. Two weeks after you moved into my class you got admitted into hospital with a virul infection you caught from your pet birds. When i visited you the only thing you were upset about was the fact that your birds were going to be sold. You spent three months in hospital and had two terms off school. I missed your company so much. At the end of term three i moved to Wagga Wagga, which was three hours away. Twleve months later I came to visit and you along with my other friends gave me a suprise party. You were so tall, but still about a centimetre shorter then me, you always were. I spent a month at your house and we cried so much when i left. One and a half years later i moved to Melbourne, but we still saw each other. When we went to high school we didn't see each other much at all, i think once in year 7 and that was it. On April 3 2007 i got a call from your mum. I remember the date because it was my mum's 40th birthday. You had been admitted to hospital and were going to be transfered to the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. They didn't know what was wrong with you, and you were so weak. I saw you in hospital twice. The second time was just a few days before your birthday on August 7 (which is today) you died on August 8. You told me you were determined not to die on your birthday and you didn't. I got to go to your funeral. Your mum drove halfway to Melbourne and we met her there.

I miss you Lauren and i wish i spent more time with you.

R.I.P Lauren

More Hobbies

Hey again 10g!!

I was looking at other members of the class's blog about hobbies and it made me think that i had missed out on some stuff!!

Hobby 5: Music

I love listening to it, especially when it's live. My favourite bands/singers would have to be Kimya Dawson, The Fray (yes and i do realize their name is like mine!!), Green Day and just pretty much anything else. I love dancing really badly and singing karaoke. I learn the guitar which i love playing, hopefully i can play it ok soon! I also love singing i sing with the school choir, which i know you probably think is pretty nerdy but i love it.

Hobby 6: Youth Group

I go to youth group (also known as UNIT) every Friday night. Basically we either sit around watching tv, playing games and tal, king or do a special activity. Some special activties we do are: bowling, cooking nights, Amazing Race, ice skating and movie nights.

Hobby 7: Writing Stories

I love creative writing. It can take you to a completly different land or to the house across the road. Right now i am writing a novel about a two friends who were seperated by distance and were brought back together by the illness of one of them. I have hardly written any of it but i am enjoying writing it.

Well that's it for now.

My Hobbies

I must admit that this would be one of the hardest questions for me. What makes a hobby a hobby and how do i choose what is the better out of two activities. So i may miss out on a few hobbies but hopefully i cover most of them!!! (this are in no particular order by the way)

Hobby 1: Basketball
I play basketball every Saturday and Monday's. I play for two teams, the Basin Wildcats and the St. Paul Panthers. I've been playing basketball since i was in year 3 and i have loved it ever since.

Hobby 2: St. John Ambulance Cadets
Every Thursday night i go to St. John Ambulance  Cadets. We learn first aid, other valuable skills and just have fun. We have a uniform with really weird hats but i really enjoy Cadets. Last night i went for a badge for cas sim. This is making fake wounds using makeup. I think i did pretty good.

Hobby 3: VGen
I'm sure you have all heard of World Vision, i am a member of their youth organization, VGen. Basically i attend sessions, sign petitions and spread the news. I am wanting to start up a VisionGroup which is a group where you talk about how to stop poverty, fundraise and organize fun events for the community. I'm not quite sure whether to ask the school if i could start one. What do you guys think?

Hobby 4: Scrapbooking
I love scrapbooking because it's not to hard to learn but it looks great. I've made scrapbooks for assignments and for friends. I think they look really professional and are a bit more personal then something from the computer. I also make cards which are way cheaper then buying them from the shops.

Well i guess that will do. I have more hobbies but i will be writing more months!!

Freya :)

Mirror Mirror

I saw an ad and stand for a new Snow White toy in the shops the other day. It was for this talking mirror and i thought it looked VERY stupid but i guess i was wrong coz there was this huge line of girls (and boys) wanting to see this toy. This strange sight got me thinking what could be so good about this mirror. Maybe it was the mirror of ERISED like in Harry Potter. Of course this was not possible. Maybe a mirror that shows our desires wouldn't be fantastic but i would sure as hell want to look in it. This stupid mirror thing got me thinking about what the future of mirrortechnology could be heading. Imagine a mirror that could tell us who a person really was or what they were hiding. A mirror that could tell us what we are doing wrong in life or even tell us how to save the world. The line twindled away and the lady began packing up the stand. I thought i would walk past to see this 'magical' mirror. I didn't want the lady to see me looking at the toy so i decided to work past doing some weird spy walk thing. Steps closer and of course she wanted to start packing away the mirror. 'Wait!' i yelled. She looked around and smiled. I walked away two minutes later having purchased this $15 mirror, i guess i must have felt guilty stopping the lady pack it up. So now i have this mirror staring at me every morning as if it was a reminder of my obsession with it that day the other week. I know what your thinking what a sad waste of time and i agree completely! I wasted about 20 minutes of my life to see a talking mirror!!

Blogging I Guess

Hey everyone,

Hmm...what can i say, i'm not extremely fantastic at these things but i will try. My name is Freya Emily Munzel. I wish i had a simpler name but i don't. My parents were going to call to me Emily Patria Williams (Williams is my mums maiden name) but they changed their minds. I am 15 and live in dodgy Boronia (sorry but it is!). What else? I was born in Canberra on January 10 1993 so i didn't know what AFL was until i was 12. I also lived in Wagga Wagga for about a year. Some random memories from my childhood: my Christian friend chasing after me with a water bucket when she heard i wasn't baptised, losing my tooth in my ice-cream, eating it and crying coz i didn't think the tooth fairy would come and coming down to Melbourne for a holiday and thinking the terrorists were going to kill my grandma. I am in year 10 this year which is ok i guess. School's pretty good but I hate the homework, i suppose most people would. Sometimes i think i should be a teacher so i can punish students and inflict them with the same cruel and tedious tasks that i had to suffer, but i am not that mean. Saying this not all teachers are mean (just the majority!!) My favourite subject would have to be science and English (I AM NOT sucking up to the teacher!) I really enjoy solving problems and figuring out how things work. I also enjoy creative writing. Geez i sound so much like a nerd!! My least favourite subject would be maths, for the same reasons that most of you hate it. Some quick facts about me: I have hazel eyes and brown hair, my sister is in year 7, i play basketball, i am taller than my mum (by about 10 cm) but i can't reach as high as her, my cat was put down about a month ago, i know first aid, i haven't been on a plane since i was 5 months old, i work at Hungry Jacks, i am a YouTube a holic and i bought myself a pair of boots last week.

Oh by the way sorry for those who suffered or died from the reading of this blog since it is terribly boring. Though i am sure these words are quite useless since most of you would have stopped reading after the first five words.

Hoping to Blog Again Soon,

Freya xxooxx
